Every Wednesday from 16th November 9:45am HEALTH WALK meet Chapeltown Library

To join us on a Health Walk we ask that you contact us first, there are three ways to do this.

2. Call us on 07977 690100 (note: we are a non profitable organisation, which means we won't be able to call you back, if we miss your call please keep trying?)

3. Post in this thread.



Walk: Health Walk - Chapeltown Park

Date: Every Wednesday starting 16 November 2011

Start time: Meet at 9:45am for a 10:00am start

Meeting point: Outside Chapeltown Library

Approx distance & duration: 1.5 - 2 miles and 40 minutes to 1 hour

Route: Through Chapeltown Park and Summer Hills back into Chapeltown then optional cafe

Terrain: Tarmaced paths, parkland paths and tracks

Parking: Plenty of Free parking.

Refreshments & toilets: There are toilets at entrance to the park, and cafe at end of walk.

Public transport: Plenty of buses to Chapeltown fron Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield as well as Trains which are every half hour either route Sheffield/Leeds

Walk Leaders: Bruno, Hippiechick

Risk Assesment: Wet leaves, Traffic, some road walking, slippery paths, water.

IMPORTANT: Anyone joining the walk should be of a level of fitness relative
to the walk being undertaken, be appropriately dressed, have
suitable footwear.

Is this going to form part of Health Walks Project through council website or is it a Shambers own Health Walk?

Its a shamblers own health walk although we are in the process of forming some form of alliance with the council as we speak thumbsup

These are really good walks for people new to walking. Come along and have a walk with us. I did over three years ago and I managed to walk up Snowdon this year!

Can't as I'm working. The reason I was asking is as I sometimes refer people to Health Walks but generally people are happier just turning up on the day, if they feel up to it. Hope the walks prove popular as there doesn't seem to be another health walk in Chapeltown.
