Clayton West - Saturday 28th September

Post by Shamblers on Thu Sep 05, 2013 4:21 am

Description

This is a 6 mile walk over rolling countryside from the picturesque village of Clayton West. Open countryside, woods and streams with fantastic views across to Emley Moor. Plenty of “ups and downs” will let you know you have done a walk.

Details

Start time: 11.00 am
Parking: On Street parking on High Street, Clayton West
Meeting point: Outside the village store
Refresments & Toilets: None on route, but Cherry Tree pub, High Hoyland at the end of the walk.
Map reference: SE259108
Post Code: HD8 9PD
Walk leaders: Rick the Roman and Yellowbelly

Additional information
If you are planning on joining this walk please post in this thread so that the walk leader knows to expect you.
Anyone who is able to offer lifts, could they put this in their post. Any passengers receiving a lift to a walk, please offer £3.50 to the driver to cover fuel costs.
Passengers please note that the driver may wish to join the rest of the group for a drink after the walk, so please bear this mind
Please note there is a £2 one off registration fee for new members

*Important*
Please wear appropriate clothing. Moorland and open land walks require stout walking boots/shoes.
Please remember to bring a waterproof coat/kagol which can be kept in your rucksack and enough drink and food for the duration of the walk as often the longer walks are off the beaten track, and the only refreshment stop where you purchase drinks is at the end of the walk.
If you can not make the walk or you are running late, please phone or text the walk leader.

Must have been painful then. I got stung twice last week too, by devil wasps.
