Saturday 5th March - Wharncliffe Crags

For insurance, and common sense reasons, it is a requirement that people put their names down in advance if they intend to come on a Shamblers Walk.

Walk: Wharncliffe Crags

Date: Saturday March 5

Start time: Meet at 10.15 for 10.30 start

Meeting point: Old Harrow Pub - Main St Grenoside

Approx distance: 5.5 - 6.5 miles

Approx duration: 4.5 hours

Route: Through Wheata Wood, droping down into Wharncliffe Woods over stile onto Wharncliffe Chase making our way onto The Crags going all way around re-joining Wharncliffe Chase following paths which lead us back to the first stile back into Wharncliffe Wood and back through Wheata Wood to the starting point.

Terrain: Easy to Moderate, Stiles, well used paths, uneaven in places, could be muddy in places

Parking: Roadside around Old Harrow Pub

Refreshments: Old Harrow Pub

Toilets: None on-route

Public transport:

Walk Leaders: Bruno, Tiddlywink

Additional information: Anyone who is able to offer lifts, will they put this in their post.

IMPORTANT: Anyone joining the walk should be of a level of fitness relative
to the walk being undertaken, be appropriately dressed, have
suitable footwear, and have with them enough food and drink
for the duration of the walk. .

Shame about that we will not be able to partake of this walk as the sun is due to shine, so Im packing the caravan.
