Saturday Walk 19th March (New Date) - Crook Hill and Derwent Reservoir
This is the walk that was cancelled 19th Feb due to snow.
For insurance, and common sense reasons, it is a requirement that people put their names down in advance if they intend to come on a Shamblers walk.
Walk: Crook Hill and Derwent Reservoir
Date:Saturday 19th MARCH
Start time: Meet at 9.45 for 10.00 start
Meeting point: Far side of bridge on A57 at Ladybower just where the small road on the right, up the side of Derwent Reservoir starts - grid ref: 191865 ( map OL1).
Approx distance: 7.5 miles
Approx duration: 4 hours 30 minutes
Route: Up to Crook Hill Farm, Lockerbrook, Fairholmes, Derwent Edge, Whinstone Lee, Ashopton.
Terrain: Open farm and moorland, gravel paths, muddy paths etc
Parking: Available here on A57 bridge
Refreshments: The tourist 'hut' is open for drinks and refreshments and we will stop here to have lunch on the picnic benches.
Toilets: At the tourist place where we will stop for lunch.
Public transport: Not sure on this one -
Walk Leaders: Hippiechick3, Village Owl
Additional information: This may suit those looking for a more challenging walk as its quite hilly! Look forward to seeing you.

As it says I will be there. Really looking forward to it, having heard so much about it and how good it is.

Really good walk today, with great weather all day, makes a pleasant change after the last two rain drenched walks I've been on.
Interesting research you've been doing there Hippiechick, good to see you doing your homework.
